Calling all new Sirius Parents/Carers/Grandparents of Year 6
Research has shown that parental support has had a significant effect on a student’s progress. This research has shown that effective parental/family support can improve a student’s engagement and achievement,
We understand that supporting a student’s progress into secondary school and through the teenage years can be a daunting process but working together we can make this transition as smooth as possible.
With this in mind we are holding “Confidence Building for Parents” sessions in partnership with Hull Adult Education.
The sessions support parents, grandparents and carers to develop a confident and assertive approach to parenting and provide a chance to meet with other parents, grandparents and carers.
The first session will be held on Tuesday 11th June 2013 from 12.45pm to 2:45pm at the academy, with the course running for 5 weeks.
