Global National Enterprise Masterclass at Hull University

[19 Nov 2012]

Report from Miss Smalley ( ICT/ Business) – I had the pleasure of taking 10 of our finest Year 10s to the Global National Enterprise Masterclass at Hull University on Friday. It was a fantastic day filled with lots of brilliant activities and competitions, the students got a lot out of it and really excelled in some of the challenges, especially the final competition where they had to work as a team and innovate a plastic pipe in to a new product that was environmentally friendly and form this the ‘Relax-a-bath’ was born (ask the students!). They made the most of mingling with successful entrepreneurs such as one of the founders of Xing Smoothies, previous contestants of the Young apprentice and the infamous Ruth Badger herself. 20 teams from different schools attended the day and the students’ hard work paid off, they placed in the final 6 to present their new innovative product to the ‘Badgers’ themselves and they finished in 4th they also received a money prize each. They were a credit not only to the academy but also to themselves, they were outstanding from start to finish.
