Hull Schools Athletic Championships

Olivia Young of Year 8 was the 'Star of the Show' in leading the Year 8 Girls to 2ND place overall in the Hull Schools Athletic Championships at Costello yesterday.

Olivia won all four of her events in the Long Jump, 100M and 200M sprints and in her relay team leading the Year 8 Girls home to first place.

The year 8 girls relay team comprised of Olivia Young, Ester Godwin, Ebony Epworth , and Megan Atkinson

Olivia was outright first in the Long Jump, 100M and Relay - she was 2nd overall at 200M but this was because the event was split into two events and timed separately. Olivia was so far in front of her rivals that she slowed up and therefore lost overall first place on time. The girl who came first was beaten by Olivia in the 100M event.

A fantastic individual achievement in which Olivia deserves much praise!

Olivia was backed up by a strong girls team with many other individual successes and this was also the case with the boys.

Full team results are to be mailed to us but other individual successes (first places) included :-

Callum Magee - Triplle Jump
Rohid Zomani - Triple Jump
Chris Brown - Shot
Adam Kelsey - 100m

There were many 2nd and 3rd placed athletes with a comprehensive full set of results to follow.

All the athletes were a credit to the Academy.
