Hull Young People’s Parliament – SAW Visit

[24 Oct 2019]
Eight students from the academy represented us this week at the Hull Young People’s Parliament at the Guildhall in Hull.

They joined groups from schools across the city in debating issues and ideas, and making decisions about the future prospects of others. The day began with a Q&A session with the Lord Mayor of Kingston Upon Hull, the Young Mayor and members of the Youth Parliament on topical issues, such as, knife crime and mental health. They then debated the campaign for 2019/20 – Protecting the Environment.

All the students contributed to the debate and discussion, and as ever represented the academy with great professionalism and maturity. Congratulations to all those involved; Emily Holt, Ellie Culliney, Dylan Wilkinson, Megan Winter, Owen Lewis, Jack Cooke, Beth Winter and Harry Willis.
