Mia Duke – Womens Super League Launch

[26 Jan 2018]

Mia Duke – captain of the Sirius Academy West Rugby League National Championship winning team in Year 8 and Year 11 is the face of the newly created Hull FC Ladies team as the brand new Womens Super League was launched yesterday at The John Smiths Stadium, Huddersfield. The Womens Super League was launched alongside the Mens Super League where Mia was interviewed alongside Director of Rugby at Sirius Academy Rachel Gay by the RFL, Hull Daily Mail and Hull FC Media team. Mia Duke said “This is a great opportunity for girls in Hull to play rugby for their local Super League club, I have played for school and college at Sirius Academy West and created some amazing memories, with being crowned National Champions in Year 8 and 11, getting to parade around Wembley on Challenge Cup Day four times. Hopefully now I can create even more memories with the plan to play a part in taking the Hull FC team into the Womens Super League, as for our first season we are in the Development League. My personal aim would be to play for England one day, rugby league for girls and women is certainly on the up and I hope it will inspire more young females to start playing the game”.

Hull FC will launch their newly created Ladies team on Wednesday 31st Janauary at the Hull FC training ground on County Road at 6:30pm. If anyone is interested in attending this event and playing for Hull FC Ladies then please contact Hull FC direct.
