Narrow Finals defeat for Year 7 Girls
Sirius Year 7 girls 5-a side football team represented the academy in the Hull schools competition last night at the Bonus Arena on the KC Stadium complex.
The girls were in pool A along with 3 other schools; Archbishop Sentamu, Malet Lambert and Andrew Marvell. They beat Andrew Marvell 1-0 and Archbishop 7-0 but narrowly lost 3-2 against a very strong Malet Lambert team, which meant that they went through to the semi-finals to play the winners of pool B, St Mary's. Despite a huge effort from the girls they ended up loosing 2-1 and therefore didn't reach the final. They did however have a play off for fourth and third place which they were victorious in against Endeavour 1-0. The girls were extremely well behaved and a credit to the academy.Top scorers from the evening were Ebony Hepworth with 5 and Megan Kay with 4.
