There is no greater thrill than winning! The Year 8 Sirius Academy West Football Team overcame all of their opposition to be crowned Hull Schools 5-a-side Champions!

The competition was split into two groups of six based on the performance of the team from the previous year. Sirius Academy West were in the 'premier' league against very strong opposition in five other teams.

The boys won there first four games defeating St.Mary's on the way in a very accomplished manner including coming back in one game from a 0-2 deficit!

The final game was against arch rivals Malet Lambert - both teams had won their previous four games so effectively this became a final!

Three nil down and no way back but it just goes to show that you carry on and continue to believe in yourselves and don't give in that you can achieve. The boys showed great character in their fight back and knew that a draw was going to be good enough!  The scoring went 1-3; 2-3; 3-3! We were all ecstatic and jumping around with joy!

A great feeling of achievement and accomplishment!

Please congratulate all the boys on their success :  Max Sadler; Jamie Whiting; Charlie Matchett; Liam Wilkinson; Etan Kirkby; Keane Pyzer; Reece Shipley and Daniel Bunce.

The thrill of winning will always remain even after first winning a five-a-side championship back in 1984! Where have all the years gone?  And no do not ask my age? Winning is winning!

Results were as follows:-
