U13 Girls RU Team win all 3 games at the East Yorkshire Qualifiers

The U13 Sirius Academy West girls Ruby Union Team managed to win all three games in the East Yorkshire Qualifiers at Hull RUFC last night in freezing conditions.

Sirius West 5 St Marys “A” 4
In the first game of the tournament Sirius were up against a strong St Marys “A” team. It was a very close match as both teams started to pick up the rules a lot better as the game went on.  Sirius took an early lead with tries from Lucy Sainty and Georgia Coggin. St Marys levelled the scores to 2 – 2. Paige Collingwood was on the scoresheet next who seemed to just grow in confidence with a fine performance in attack and defence. Georgia Coggin scored two more tries to round off her hat-trick, but they couldn’t keep St Marys out from scoring two more tries to make the final score 5 – 4 to Sirius West

Sirius West 7 Kelvin Hall 3
Sirius had grown in confidence and was looking dangerous in attack, whilst also more organised and strong in defence. Tries from Georgia Coggin, Paige Collingwood and Chelsea Anderson made it 3 – 0 before Kelvin got on the scoresheet. Nicole George, Chelsea Anderson, Georgia Coggin and Chantelle Dunn made it 7 – 1, before Kelvin scored two late consolation tries.

Sirius West 8 Wolfreton 5
As the temperatures dropped even further, the girls deserved great credit for putting out another superb performance. Lucy Sainty showed her class to go over for the first try before Wolfreton equalised. The game was evenly matched with both teams cancelling each other out. Tries from Chelsea Anderson, Kacey Broadhead and Lucy Sainty were all equalled out as Wolfreton made it 4 – 4. Georgia Coggin and Lucy Sainty made it 6 – 4 before Wolfreton went over again, but it was Sirius that had the final say with two more tries from the impressive, strong running Chelsea Anderson.

Please congratulate the squad on their effort, attitude and behaviour, they deserve real praise to stick out the freezing weather conditions and still play some fantastic rugby:-
