UNDER 13 SIRIUS CRICKET TEAM- LOOK THE PART!

[16 Jun 2015]

The Sirius Under 13 Cricket Team played their first league game against St.Mary’s and not only looked the part but were convincing winners.

The team stood out when they arrived in their all ‘ new whites ‘  emblazoned with the Sirius logo and the game seemed won at that point.

Captained by Luke Riley who again has been selected by East Yorkshire and vice-captained by Ali Bilal –they won the toss and St. Mary’s were ‘put to the sword’ and asked to bat.

It became apparent from the onset that St.Mary’ were going to struggle and the bowling of Harry Pougher (3 wickets), Alfie Drury, Connor Scaum, Baillie Borman, Luke Riley and Ali Bilal limited the opposition to only 35 runs for 6 in the limited overs game of sixteen overs.  This was admirably supported in the field by Lewis Bibby,

Jack Hassard, Leon Stewart ; Tom Borman ; and Kain Brown.

The St.Mary’s score was easily over passed by the impressive batting of Luke Riley retired on 19 and that of Alfie Drury on 10 with Ali Tilal going for an erratic 5.

The extra’s ensured the team had made an excellent start to their campaign and will be looking forward to a more difficult challenge against Malet Lambert.

The team could do no more than win and they did that impressively looking good!

Please praise all the boys involved who have all been named in the report.

Thanks to Martin Smith for his support.
