Y11 Football: Sirius West 7 – Winifred Holtby 0

[28 Mar 2019]

The Year 11 Football Team signed off in style with a well-deserved 7-0 victory in the final of the Hull Schools Trophy on Wednesday night. The boys should be commended for their outstanding attitude this year, their willingness to play and the fantastic team ethic that they share.

The result was never in doubt thanks to an emphatic start that saw the team race into a 6-0 lead by Half-Time; four goals from captain Ali Alsheriafe, a penalty from Elliot Pashley and a great team goal from Ahmed Bela.

Numerous changes in the second half disrupted the flow of the game with only a solitary Elliot Pashley goal adding to the scoreline. The changes brought Winifred Holtby into the game and allowed Emils Kokorevics and Kieran Broadhead to excel in defence and the dependable Connor Foster in goal thwarting any attacks.

There was nearly a fairy tale ending to the game with the very last kick of the game falling to Charlie Jones. His 25yd strike just passing the far post.

Well done to all the boys involved since Year 7 and good luck in your future footballing careers!

Squad: Connor Foster, Lewis Bibby, Luke Taylor, Emils Kokorevics, Kieran Broadhead, Ali Alsheriafe, Jack Brown, Elliot Pashley, Ahmed Bela, Tom Wilkinson, Harry Blackham, Charlie Jones, Jamie Hope, Harry Gould, Leon Stewart and Oliver Walker.

Thanks to Mr Rodgers, Mr Basile, Mr Walters and Mr Hamilton for either their support this year or for coming to watch the team in the final.
