Year 7 produced an excellent display to end the season on a high!

[25 Oct 2013]

The year 7 boys with a new look attack of Thomas Stabler and Bayer Ahmed excelled in which could have proved to be a tricky evening in their final game of the season. The game started with the boys playing some excellent football playing delicate passes which spread the trinity team, opening up gaps for the always outstanding Jack Tanser to feed the front two Sirius lads. With some excellent work down the right from Gael Nzayadio and a great ball to Bayer who muscled past the trinity defence and fed Jayden Robson at the back post who slid home to give Sirius a well-deserved 1-0 lead!

Could Trinity pull one back?!… With what must be a record attendance on the Sirius 3G from home and away parents the trinity outfit was moving the ball about well and pressing the back four of Ethan Kendall, Ryan Jackson, Jack Hassard and Baillie Borman the trinity striker forced a save out of the ever-present Sirius goalkeeper Joseph Hill. With the corner coming in Jack Hassard who had an excellent afternoon provided Bayer with the ball from a crunching tackle with Bayer counter attacking running 60 yards…would he hold his nerve, did he have enough fitness?!…Yes. Bayer very calmly slotted home from the edge of the box for Sirius to lead 2-0. With the final few minutes of the first half and an almost identical chance fell to Gael who unfortunately keep his cool.

Half Time.

The second half started in the same way with the Year 7’s playing some terrific football, passing, moving and supporting each other on every run saw gaps open up on both sides and within 10 minutes Gael saw Bayer sprinting through the defence and Bayer once again kept his cool to put Sirius 3-0 in the lead.
Full credit to the Trinity team who never stopped trying gave Sirius some decent pressure however the back 4 dealt with anything that Trinity could throw at them (not literally)!

When Sirius regrouped with the changes that were made in Luke Riley, Harry Pougher and Tom Scarr the boys seemed to have gotten full energy and closed down every ball. Harry Pougher played a delightful through ball to Tom Scarr who could not finish his shot!…however this was not the end as it came out to Jack Tanser at the edge of the box who turned two players took one touch out to his left foot and from around 25 yards curled one past the excellent Trinity keeper who kept the score as low as possible (fair play) to produce probably the best goal ever seen on the 3G. CRACKER. To make it 4-0

Tom Scarr latched on to a great Stabler pass and got a flick on to make it 5-0. With Sirius’s never give up attitude and some excellent break up play from Harry Pougher the best move of the game saw 3 one touch passes to release Stabler on the wing to race home and close the game at 6-0.
