Year 8 5-a-side winners

Last night in the freezing cold temperatures of Hull, the year 8 football team took part in a 5-a-side tournament at Goals. Last year they suffered heartbreak in the final and were keen to avoid a repeat of this! Drawn in a tough group stage with Malet Lambert they still remained unbeaten with a 4-1,3-1 wins followed by a 2-2 draw to allow them to progress as group winners. In the semi-final they faced Kelvin, who the have recently beaten in the Hull school's Premier league. It was a nervous encounter with Sirius leading 3-1 however a late kelvin goal made for some nail biting final seconds of the game!

Again, we had reached the final and were against arch rivals St Mary's seeking revenge! After a couple of early minute nervous had worn off the game was tied at 0-0. With some swift movement and pressing the team composed themselves and pushed on eventually winning the game 6-1 and champions of the whole tournament remaining undefeated!

Can you please congratulate the following students for winning the 5-a-side Hull tournament last night. Can you also ask them to come to 232 at break tomorrow.
