In any normal year, May would have allowed us to celebrate the completion of your Year 6 SATS, visit you all in your individual Primary Schools, and welcome you to our Welcome Evening at the academy.
Thank you for being patient as we continue to adapt to the current issues caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. The challenges that we are all faced with mean that our transition offer will be a little different this year.
We hope that your Welcome Pack will enable you to familiarise yourself with the academy, and develop your confidence and enthusiasm about the imminent transition to Year 7, as we prepare for your arrival in September 2020.
The information on the right-hand side of the pack is information to help support your transition to the academy and can be regularly reviewed prior to September.
This includes a Transition Passport with numerous activities designed to increase your awareness of Sirius Academy West. All of the activities are supported by additional resources and materials on our website. These will be available for all students from Monday 1st June 2020 and include Virtual Tours, Student Guides and interviews with key staff.
We will also be issuing weekly Five Challenges of Summer for our new Y6 cohort. These will be available on our website and Twitter page. Weekly winners will be rewarded with Just Eat vouchers to share with the family.
Throughout June and July we would be keen to see you face-to-face so please keep a look out for our plans regarding Conference Calls with a number of you!
We will continue to update you throughout the rest of the summer but please don’t hesitate to get in contact with any individual questions that you have.
