6th form football match

SOUTH HUNSLEY 3 SIRIUS 5

What a fantastic game of football for the first ever Sirius 6th form game. Having only ever seen 3 of the lads play it was a case of hope for the best prepare for the worst. However, I needn’t have worried as the lads lulled South Hunsley by allowing them to take a 3-1 lead half way through the second half before using our extra speed and skill to pull away in great fashion to a 5-3 win. Obviously Jordan Easter and Wesley Naulls will get the plaudits as they scored the goals -but this was a real team effort with good performances from all. If I had to give a man of the match it would go to Jack Humphries followed closely by Liam Gordon, Adam Walker and Jordan Hart. Special mention should go to Macauley Duke who ran himself into the ground and had to come off with cramp – a real team player. I can honestly say that despite being involved with a lot of football over the years this game was one of the most pleasurable I have been involved with – made so by the attitude of the players of both sides, the excellent organisation of Matt Simpson from South Hunsley – and the fact that we WON! Please congratulate the lads if you see them – they were a real credit to us as the enclosed picture shows. Thanks to John Flatman for the pendant a really nice touch.
