A purposeful and productive education for all
Sirius Academy West, in accordance with the School Standards and Framework Act 1998, and in consultation with the Executive Principal and the Board of Governors, publish a specific admission limit. This limit is the maximum number of students the academy considers can be admitted within each Year Group. The limit has to take into account the size of the building, number of classrooms, safety and well-being of students, current facilities and available resources. The limit is designed to ensure that the academy is able to provide and deliver a purposeful and productive education for all.
Our admissions policy includes the opportunity for pupils in Year 6 to confirm their place at the academy via Sporting Aptitude. Testing occurs in September/October and helps to inform a pupil’s, and their parents/carers’, preference for the October deadline. The academy has been heavily oversubscribed for almost a decade and this route provides some pupils with the chance to jump the queue.
The move to Sirius Academy should be viewed with great excitement and optimism. We are looking forward to seeing every pupil flourish and fulfil their vast potential. We look forward to seeing you all!
If you have any concerns or queries regarding the allocation or transition process, please do not hesitate to get in contact with the academy on (01482) 352939.
