Amazing experiences await for our Sixth Formers

[15 Feb 2014]

Tonight our 8 HEAPS students (Broadley, Wlodarska (+ parent), Easter, J Allen, Hancock (parent), Wall, Cooke and Jackson (+ parent)) attended an information evening about a 4 day residential at Cambridge University in April 2014. The 100% free event will allow the students to access academic streams like Mendel, Molecules, Meerkats and Murder: investigations in the Life Sciences delivered by Cambridge lecturers as well as receive careers guidance and try punting down the River Cam. All students seemed very keen to attend and will complete consent forms and return to me by Monday 24th February. Dependant on the academic stream they pick, some students may be absent from lessons between Monday 7th and Thursday 10th of April.

Two other Sixth Formers Joshua Milner (BTEC Sport) and Shannon Jude (A Levels) have been selected to attend 3 days of medical taster sessions based at Hull Royal / Castle Hill hospitals where they will shadow consultants and gain invaluable experience into the medical professional. These students will be out of the Academy between February 24th and 26th.

Amazing experiences I’m sure you will agree.
