Big Ideas Team Regional Champions

[04 May 2012]

In February all year 8s were involved in a “Big Ideas for the Planet” day. They split into teams and developed business plans and presentations to show that their idea could make a big change. Six teams developed their idea further in their own time and submitted them to be considered for the regional final. Two teams, V16 and Hectic Hygiene, were successful and attended Hull University yesterday to present the big idea to a panel of expert judges and field questions on the feasibility of the plan.

For all of the students this was the first time presenting in a lecture theatre to a large audience. The questions were probing and really tested the ideas and the abilities of our students to think on their feet and respond to challenges to their ideas.

Following the judges deliberations, V16 was declared the winner of the regional final! Hectic Hygiene was highly commended.

V16 now need to refine and develop their idea for the national finals held at the Palace of Westminster in July.
