British Science Week – Primary School Visits
Over 180 students from our local Primary School had a day of fun and excitement this week as we hosted our very own Science Day to coincide with British Science Week. Students from Christopher Pickering, Eastfield, Francis Askew, Paisley, Rokeby and Wheeler Primary Schools explored the concept of chromatography, dissected a sheep and handled pieces of the heart and lungs, and manufactured a paper aeroplane to see whose could fly the furthest.
Students and teachers alike were very busy learning new skills and felt very grown up working in our science labs alongside some of our Year 7 students.
Special thanks to Miss Handley, Miss Steeper and Miss Welch, and their team of ambassadors for all their preparation and hard-work before and during the event.
Congratulations to all those that took part in today’s effort. Your attitude and conduct throughout the day was outstanding and a credit to your individual Primary Schools.
