Calling all Parents/Carers/Grandparents of Year 9 & 10
Research has shown that parental support has had a significant effect on a student’s progress. This research has shown that effective parental/family support can improve a student’s engagement and achievement.
We understand that supporting a student’s Maths or English can be daunting, especially as they move up towards GCSE level.
With this in mind we are holding “Keeping up with the children” sessions in partnership with Hull Adult Education.
The sessions support parents and carers to understand how to support their child’s progress in Maths and English.
There will be a taster session on Friday 7 June 2013 at 1.00pm to 3.00pm at the academy, with the course running on Friday afternoons from 14 June until 12 July 1.00pm to 3.00pm.
