Gifted and Talented Quiz Night

Sirius Academy hosted its first Pizza and Quiz night on Thursday 13th March 2014. The aim of the event was to engage with the gifted and talented cohorts at the academy and their parent/ carers.
The event was offered to students and families wanting to attend the quiz night to challenge their academic and general knowledge in teams, hoping to win some fantastic prizes such as Hull City tickets, tickets to the Deep and Easter eggs to name a few.
The night begun with an amazing 76 students and family members attending the quiz and tucking into pizza and chips to fuel them in preparation for the quiz challenge ahead!
Mr Kenny Proven acted as quizmaster for the night and did a sterling job testing the knowledge of everyone there. The quiz contained categories from each subject area in the academy from English and Maths through to Geography and Languages. The questions varied in depth which meant that families had to work together effectively drawing from knowledge across different generations, particularly during the music section!
The night culminated in quizzes being swapped and marked and handed in for official adjudication. During which the families completed feedback surveys on their thoughts from the night. The feedback from families was amazing and eager for the event to be hosted again.
Prizes included, tickets to the Deep, Hull City tickets and Easter eggs.
A huge thank you to all families that attended. Special thanks to Miss Hayley Turner for organising and coordinating the event and Mr Kenny Proven for being a charismatic quizmaster!
