Hull School’s 5-a-Sides – Year 10 win group but narrowly lose out in Semi-Finals
Hull School’s 5-A-Sides
The Year 10 5-a-Side team finished top of the group with the following results:-
Sirius 3 Trinity 0
2 St. Mary’s 1
1 Malet 1
1 Winifred Holtby 0
In doing so they reached the semi-final stages where they met Sydney Smith.
In a close game but one in which Sirius dominated the boys were beaten 1-2.
The Sydney keeper could do no wrong and saved everything that was hit at him.
Sydney Smith went on to lose the final easily to Malet Lambert who we had earlier drawn with.
Ironically the Malet keeper had pulled off two brilliant saves from Alex Douglas late on in our game otherwise they
would of been out of the tournament- instead they finished runnesr-up.
Luck did not seem to be on our side but the boys played magnificently and gave their all.
