Inclusive Swimming 5th May

[08 May 2017]

You could have forgiven Michael Phelps for feeling nervous that his records may fall as our crack squad of swimmers arrived at The Pods, ready to push themselves to the limit in the hunt for glory. The team and events comprised of:

Thomas Moore (breaststroke, backstroke, relay)
Camron Ellam (backstroke, 50m front crawl, relay)
Lewis Douglas-Biss (25m front crawl, relay)
Kai Marshall (relay)
Caitlin Ellam (25m front crawl, breaststroke)

Each discipline was split into timed heats with the fastest 8 going through the final. Caitlin (breaststroke), Thomas (breaststroke) and Camron (50m front crawl) all performed so well in their heats they qualified for the finals, an achievement myself and Mrs Watson were incredibly proud of. Unfortunately, they were unable to claim a podium place but all of the students can be very proud of their efforts.

Tom, Cam, Lewis, Caitlin and Kai all behaved excellently during the day and each of them really gave 100% during each of their races. They did themselves and the Academy proud, well done!

An enormous thank you to Mrs Watson for her help and Mr Sherwood for organising and running the event.
