Journalism Day – Thursday 20th March
On Thursday 20th March, our Sixth Form students were invited to attend The University of Hull’s ‘Journalism Day’, at Hull Truck Theatre. The students enjoyed a programme of high profile speakers who spoke about changing landscapes and careers in the journalism and media industries. They heard from Rosie Millard (a freelance writer and journalist), Damian Johnson (BBC Sports News), Stuart Heritage (Guardian columnist), Nick Petrie (Director of News Development at The Times and The Sunday Times), Jamie Macaskill (Assistant Editor, Hull Daily Mail), Andrew Dixon (bid leader for successful Hull City of Culture bid), David Banks (specialises in media law) and Robert Crampton (The Times columnist).
The day was both informative and enjoyable, giving insight into the industry.
