Lord Norton Visit
On the final day of term, the Academy had a special visit from Lord Norton of Louth.
His visit was part of the ‘Peers in schools’ Programme which is designed to further enhance schools citizenship programme.
The audience was made up of members of our student voice and students studying history in Year 10.
The students were very excited and had a number of questions they wished to ask him. These covered a wide range of topics about his experiences as a Lord, but also very pertinent questions about the future of our democratic process and bills currently being debated in the House of Lords.
I am sure the students left for half term having gained an interesting insight into the workings of the House of Lords and surprised at some of the personalities who attend on a regular basis!
