Moving On – Year 11 Career Interviews
Year 11 students embraced the opportunity presented to them during the Careers Interview Days provided by the academy this week.
Professionals from across the region travelled to the academy from as far as Sheffield. They gathered to interview all the students in the year group for a range of positions and provided both written and verbal face-to-face feedback on their performances. Every student had the opportunity to experience an interview scenario with a real life employer.
Mr Proven gave the visitors a tour of the building during lunchtime and the feedback was tremendous. Most of the visitors said they wished they were starting their education with the resources they had witnessed; some promised support for ongoing projects and they all agreed to come back and do it all again!
Randstad recruitment’s Louise Corry, who interviews candidates on a daily basis, was not alone when she commented on the attitude and maturity displayed by those taking part. She also commented ‘If the school I had attended had done something like this for me it would have been invaluable’.
Thanks go to Mr Rhodes, Mr Cook, careers advisor Kirstie Milner and Kerrie Jaquest from Humber EBP who provided additional support and advice from planning through to execution.
