Muddy Cows Workshop
On Friday 11th October Year 12 Theatre Studies students took part in a drama workshop with two of the cast members from Muddy Cows, the new John Godber play about a female rugby team.
The students attended a performance of the play at Hull Truck earlier in the week and were delighted to discover that one of the characters was inspired by our own rugby playing Geography teacher Ms Murphy-Cornish.
Two of the cast members, Amy Thompson and Claire Eden visited the Academy to deliver a Q&A and a workshop to help students develop their acting skills. Students also took the opportunity to perform some scenes from their forthcoming production of The Tempest which they are taking to Hull Truck Theatre as part of the Shakespeare School’s Festival. The professional actors were extremely impressed with what they saw and gave the students some wonderful feedback and advice.
The students learnt a great deal from the experience and receiving individual feedback from professional actors has boosted their confidence and helped them prepare for their own production at Hull Truck. Hannah Phillips said “it has really helped me a lot in preparing for our performance next week and was also really enjoyable!”
The Tempest will be performed at Hull Truck Theatre on Wednesday 16th October. For further details see Mrs Anderson or Mrs Quillin.
