National Enterprise 2015 – Sirius Academy returns fighting for the Key Stage 4 title
During 2013, a group of Sirius Year 8 students hit the headlines for winning National Enterprise 2013 and met Lord Alan Sugar who handed them their winning trophies. Now, Sirius Academy is back fighting for the 2015 Key Stage 4 Championship. On Monday 17th November 2014, Sirius Academy launched its’ first event to celebrate Global Enterprise week and hosted National Enterprise 2015 semi-finals.
Year 10 students, in teams, were pitted against their peers to complete a brief set by Alton Towers. Students had to create a new type of attraction that would contain a feature never seen before, but, at the same time, would be in keeping with the feel and ‘fantastic escapism’ of the theme park.
Year 10 students investigated their target markets and had to manage a budget of only £15 million to create and market their new fantastic attraction. After a nail biting round of team presentations to the panel of judges, the winning design ELEMENTAL managed to pip the others to the winning line with their unique idea. The winning team consisting of Connor Bailey, Ben Macklin, Reece Pickering and Morgan Winters were over joyed to find that their hard work had paid off.
We wish the best of luck to the Elemental Teamand wish them well for the finals in July 2015. Good luck Team, fingers crossed!
