The Enterprise Showcase 2014 took place on Wednesday 1st October. Harry Knight, Joseph Boxall, Abigail Shearsmith and Mia Atkinson have been part of an important development project working with Engaging Education, Youth Enterprise, Lord Young and now His Royal Highness Prince Andrew – the Duke of York. Representing the Prince’s Trust, the Duke of York visited students at Malet Lambert who were working in conjunction with students from Sirius Academy and Gillshill Primary School and various other thriving entrepreneurs. Prince Andrew was astounded by the amount of business talent in students so young. Prince Andrew also reviewed the development of the new Enterprise Board Game that Sirius, Malet and Gillshill has created together and several prototypes have been put in to production and were ‘tested’ by some of the teachers that were present yesterday (Mrs Smalley did not do well!). As a further development of this, students were tasked to create an App to deliver the board game – future plans for this are to create prototypes of the App to test.
An absolutely brilliant event that showcased the talent of students within Hull and showcased the importance and need for more Enterprise Education to be included in schools and the curriculum.
