Shakespeare Festival

[20 Nov 2015]

On Thursday 19th November we, the year 10 GCSE drama class of Sirius Academy, performed ‘Macbeth’ for the Shakespeare Schools Festival at the Gulbenkian Centre at Hull University. We performed alongside Priory Primary and Hornsea School and Language College.

The day started off with a technical rehearsal and a full dress, with the lighting and music. This helped us to prepare for our evening performance, as well as benefit from working with industry professionals and gain an understanding of what it’s like to work in a theatre.

After lunch, we went on a tour of the campus and a presentation about what it is like to attend university. This was very informative and made us think about our future.

Once the other schools arrived, we were all informed of our running order for the performance and we all took part in a group warm up. Our performance went really well and we really enjoyed it.

We are now looking forward to performing the play again in school and having the chance to share it with a wider audience.
