Sirius Academy U13 Girls Football team make it through to Semi Finals
Kelvin Hall 1 Sirius Academy West 13
Sirius Academy West have made it through to the Semi Final of the Humberside Cup after a convincing win against Kelvin Hall.
The game started well for Sirius as they controlled the ball well and was working hard as a team in attack and defence. The new look back three of Sam Tomlinson, Mia Husband and Chloe Dunn were looking solid as Kelvin Hall could not get anything past them. Sirius got the opener when a great ball from Alisha Pearson found Holly Dodsworth who played a precision ball through to prolific striker Danny Waters. From then on it was all Sirius, and Danny Waters completed her hat-trick in the space of five minutes with some superb strikes on goal, one of which a direct free kick that sailed into the top corner from 25 yards out, leaving the keeper with no chance. Dodsworth and Waters continued to combine well and Waters got her fourth before Sophie Murray got on the scoresheet with a great right foot volley after a quality pass from Holly Biggadyke. Georgina Robertson was enjoying her new role in front of the back three and was breaking down any attack that Kelvin Hall had and then playing a nice simple ball. Katie Clark was seeing more of the ball out wide and looking dangerous in attack. Waters got two more before the halftime break after Robertson had been strong in the challenge and then had the vision and execution to play the ball into the in-form striker to make the scoreline 7 – 0.
Credit to Kelvin Hall in the second half they did not give up and had a couple of good opportunities to score a goal of their own, but Rachel Fox in goal pulled off some fine saves. The impressive midfielder Holly Dodsworth got on the scoresheet with a fine strike and Danny Waters continued on with her goal streak, scoring two more in quick succession. Kelvin managed to get a consolation goal before Dodsworth put away a penalty. The goal of the game came next as Sirius built their play out from the back with Dodsworth, who played a ball to Alisha Pearson, who then played it out wide to Holly Biggadyke to play a lovely ball through to Waters, who finished superbly in a fine team goal. Waters rounded of the scoring making it 10 for her personally, with a 13 – 1 victory overall.
