Sirius Academy West finish 3rd in Hull Schools RL Competition

[26 Jan 2018]

Sirius Academy West Year 9 Girls managed to finish 3rd in the Hull Schools RL Competition. With many of their usual players attending a cheerleading competition the team was down to only 9 players, which means no subs.

Malet Lambert 0 Sirius Academy West 7

Sirius Academy West started the competition in fine form with tries from Lucy Sainty (3) and Georgia Coggin (4).

St Marys 4 Sirius Academy 3

In this very close game it was St Marys who managed to clinch the victory with a late try after a Sirius Academy West mistake near their own tryline on the first tackle. Tries from Georgia Coggin, Lucy Sainty and Alex Worth.

Sirius Academy West 5 Sirius Academy North 2

In a very tough game in the Sirius local derby it was West that came out on top, running in five tries and conceding two. Tries from the West side came from Rachael Robinson, Lucy Sainty (3) and Chantelle Dunn.

Sirius Academy West 2 Archibishop Sentamu 4

Sirius needed to win this one to finish in second place, but with not having any subs they naturally were very tired coming into their final match. They put up a good fight against a strong Archbishop Sentamu side who train twice a week with Hull KR. It was a great effort from the girls but they just couldn’t find the energy to see out the game after taking the lead twice. Tries from Lucy Sainty and Georgia Coggin.

Please congratulate the squad on their amazing effort throughout the competition:-

Chantelle Dunn, Paige Collingwood, Rachael Robinson, Alex Worth, Lucy Sainty, Georgia Coggin, Gracie Ellotson, Charlie Gibson, Chantelle Dunn, Demi Robson.

Player of the match was shared between Lucy Sainty and Georgia Coggin.

Special thanks to Miss Shaw for her support with the team.
