Goole Academy 1 – Sirius Academy West 3
The game started off with both teams battling well to try and get the upper hand in the game. Sirius came close 10 minutes into the game with some good free flowing football leading to Charlie Collinns hitting the cross bar with a spectacular curling effort. Goole Started to put some pressure on the Sirius defence with some strong players from a big Goole side making some powerful runs forward which was very well dealt with by the Sirius back 3 of Ryan Coulson, Cameron Stephenson and Ashton Drewery.
Sirius broke the deadlock in the first half with a very well finished goal into the bottom right corner from Freddie Fletcher assisted by Leo King. Sirius doubled their lead when Mason Tommins tireless work upfront was rewarded with an assist for a second Freddie Fletcher Goal.
Goole got themselves back into the game in the second half by getting a goal back against the run of play. However, the goal was very quickly cancelled out, With Leo King made a Galloping run down the left side finishing the goal well after a perfectly weighted pass from Charlie Collins.
From start to finish all the boys showed amazing character, attitude and work rate, which was rewarded with a very well-deserved win!
