Sirius Academy – Year 7 Students – Tour of the K.C. Stadium – Thursday 5 July 2012

A group of Year 7 pupils from Sirius Academy visited the K.C. Stadium on the morning of Thursday 5 July 2012 for a tour around the facility.

Sasch Brook from the Hull F.C. Foundation Team welcomed Rachel Gay, Director of Rugby at Sirius Academy, and her fellow staff and pupils for an informative hour and a half covering a wide range of topics.

The pupils showed a keen willingness to understand the history of the K.C. Stadium since Birse Stadia began their 14 month operation in October 2001 at a cost of £43.5 Million. The K.C. Stadium was of course completed in December 2002.

After having an opening chat in the West Stand Main Reception the group moved onto the Kingston Suite, Hull F.C. and Hull City dressing rooms, Tunnel area, pitch side area, home dug outs and the Executive Boxes on the first floor as well as standing out on the balcony overlooking the pitch.

The pupils fired away with some really good questions as the tour went on to ensure they understood about some of the main events that have taken place over the past decade – not just Sport but Concerts involving huge rock stars like Elton John, Jon Bon Jovi and Bryan Adams to name just a few.
