Sirius Academy’s achievements recognised with ‘TEEP Ambassador Status’ in national teaching award

Having participated in the UK’s largest schools network SSAT’s Teacher Effectiveness Enhancement Programme (TEEP), Sirius Academy has received the prestigious ‘Ambassador Status’ award.

This award recognises schools who have demonstrated real progress in their teaching and learning practice since completing the training. Ambassador status schools are exemplified by their focus on high quality professional development for their staff, and the consequent improvement in attainment for students as a result. They will be a centre of improving practice in this field and will have a role in supporting new schools in their journeys.

TEEP training, commended by Ofsted this year, builds on teachers’ existing expertise and is helping to transform schools across the country. It is one of the few evidence based programmes with proven impact that really deepens both the teachers and students approaches to learning.

Dr Cathy Taylor, Principal of Sirius Academy is delighted that the Academy has recievied the new status in recognition of the outstanding teaching within the school. She told The Mail “Staff have greatly benefitted from completing TEEP training and it has had a siginificant impact on the quality of teaching. We are pleased to be  working in partnership with SSAT to further share the good practice”.

Matthew Whittaker, Head of Blueprint Alliance, the new Teaching School led by Sirius Academy commented, “Ofsted have rated our teaching and learning as outstanding. TEEP training has helped us towards achieving this status. By using the TEEP model, lessons are consistently delivered to a high standard whilst being innovative and creative”.
