Sirius beaten in R2 Year 10 Football National Cup

[10 Oct 2011]

Result – South Hunsley 4 Sirius 1

Sirius were unfortunate to be drawn at this stage against a capable team that included 4 Hull City players.

However, all the boys put up a spirited and tremendous performance and took the lead through Tom Williams direct from a free-kick.

The team competed and defended admirably and only conceded before half-time- South Hunsley certainly knew they were in a game!

Sirius were unlucky not to regain the lead through Harry Tyson-Wilson when their keeper pulled off a tremendous save.

The game remained at one all until the last 10 minutes when South Hunsley took the lead for the first time and then dominated the closing stages.

A proud performance by the team who were let down squad wise by two individuals – one who made no explanation for not turning out and the other not playing through his lack of discipline within the Academy.

The team still remain unbeaten in the League with their latest result a 5-3 win over St.Mary’s.
