Sirius enters Youth Speaks competition at The University of Hull

[26 Feb 2013]

On Monday 25th February, three students represented the Academy at The Rotary Club’s ‘Youth Speaks’ competition. The event took place in Middleton Hall, at the University of Hull.

Sirius were the first to perform in the Senior competition and Tom Shearsmith took on the role of the lead speaker, delivering an impressive and informative performance on the question ‘Does the National Curriculum prepare students for life?’. Bilal Mohammad opened the proceedings as Chairperson with an impassioned introduction and Brandon Hepworth acted as the Proposer of the Vote of Thanks smoothly rounding up the piece.

All three were a credit to the Academy and worked really hard to create a well-structured and comprehensive presentation. Overall, the evening was thoroughly enjoyable and a great learning experience.
