Sirius Lead a Language Masterclass at Wold Academy
For the past two weeks, six year ten Language Leaders have taken on the role teacher at Wold Academy on a Tuesday afternoon. Working with three separate year five classes, the group delivered two exciting introductory lessons to Spanish (Favour Dim and Charlotte Brown), German (Caitlin Cursons and Chloe Barnes) and French (Olivia Breuza and Chloe-Jane Jarvis).
The leaders spent their tutor times preparing independently for their respective lessons by planning an array of engaging activities, such as a game of ‘Who Wants To Be a Millionaire?’, creating colourful resources and putting together interactive PowerPoint presentations. The girls even came prepared with their own rewards for hardworking students, such and stickers and certificates.
With such exciting content, all Wold students were very keen to learn and quickly developed their ability to speak, read and write in a completely new language. All of the leaders delivered with such confidence and professionalism that they could have been mistaken for qualified teachers.
The staff at Wold were very impressed by the effort displayed by the group and are now looking forward to meeting the Art Leaders who will be taking over from them. The girls were a real credit to the Academy so please congratulate the team if you pass them in the corridor.
