Sirius Put Up Brave Show In Attempting To Hold On As County Indoor Athletic Champions!

Sirius Academy were Humber Games Indoor Athletics County Champions at Year 7 for both girls and boys the previous year.
Having both qualified again through the Hull stages could they then repeat what they had brilliantly achieved a year ago and defend their titles? It was an achievement in itself for both the girls and boys to be representing Hull for a second consecutive year,
The task was made more difficult by injuries and illnesses to key athletes in Tom Overton, Mason Opie-Palmer and Jess Toner.
Stars of the show for Sirius were Jessica Taylor and Jack Mortimer who won all their individual races and both captained their sides admirably.
Both the girls and boys teams put on a gallant show to repeat the results of a year ago and there were some gutsy outstanding and individual performances!
From eight schools competing at girls and boys levels – with ourselves representing Hull against Lincolnshire, the East Riding and N.E. Lincs -the boys finished runners-up by only three points- and that to St.Mary’s our county partners-  with the girls finishing a brilliant third.
A fabulous achievement from our two teams to get so close and we did Hull proud once again!
There is no doubt that we might have won both levels again if all our athletes had been available!
A tremendous effort from our athletes who were exceptionally well behaved and gave their all.
Please congratulate the following students:-
