Sirius shows its Green power
On Monday 4th January, Sirius Academy West received the fantastic news that its’ budding ‘Scien-trepreneurs’ had made it through to the FINALS of The Green power Race Car Challenge. Sirius Wests’ own team, the ‘Sirius Green team’ consists of budding scientists Matthew Coulter, Bradley Shreeve, Joe Davidson, Ellie Akam, Favour Dim and Noah Puckering who submitted an impressive application to Hull University in their bid to win Sirius West’ its very own race car.
Greenpower is an internationally recognised scheme for inspiring young people to get involved in engineering. The challenge requires tasks students with designing, building and then racing a single seat electric powered car as part of a regional, national and even international competition. The Greenpower Educational Trust is supported by major partners such as Siemens, Ford and the Institute of Engineering and Technology.
