Sirius Sports Stars 2020 – Cheerleading
Sirius Academy West hosted the second instalment of our Sports Stars programme this week with a full day of Cheerleading. The initiative aims to bring together talented performers in Year 5 in a variety of sports and expose them to different activities.
The pupils had the opportunity to work with our very own Cheerleading squad to develop tumbles, jumps, stunts and pyramids before designing their own routine! All routines were then performed in front of a panel of judges to find the winners.
Fantastic effort and attitude shown throughout the day by all the students. Well done! Christopher Pickering Primary School were deemed the champions beating off fierce competition from Rokeby, Ainthorpe, Francis Askew and Eastfield.
Thank you to all those that attended and Miss Mead, Miss Low and our cheerleading squad for their support and expertise! We look forward to seeing the Primary Schools again in April for Orienteering.
