Sports Inspiration Day – Sports Scholars

Sirius Academy West Sports Scholarship students in Year 9 and 10, along with Sixth Form pupils studying sport, attended the University of Hull on Wednesday 13 March 2019 for a Sports Inspiration Day. This was a fantastic opportunity to allow students to experience the facilities at the University, discuss Higher education opportunities and spend time with talented athletes who are currently studying at the university.

The pupils had the opportunity to:

• Take part in a squash session with coaches and talented athletes currently studying at the University of Hull. 
• Develop their soft skills through a fun and interactive session where they also learned about the universities sports offer and the different degree routes available. 
• Speak to Sports Development Officers about the universities Talented Athletes Programme and balancing competition as an athlete for team GB whilst also studying at University. 
• Learnt about international placements and sports opportunities that are also available for students who are currently studying at the University of Hull.
