The 401 Challenge – Running 401 Marathons in 401 Days
On Monday 8th August the marathon runner and charity fundraiser Ben Smith started the Hull Marathon route from Sirius Academy West at 10am as part of his 401 challenge www.the401challenge.co.uk. The Mayor of Hull was in attendance together with academy staff and students to give him a welcome from the city. I am sure many of you have heard of Ben Smith completing his 401 marathon Challenge – as featured on London Marathon coverage amongst other places. Ben set out on 1 September 2015 to run 401 marathons in 401 days. In January Ben was joined by up to two dozen runners on his two day visit to the city and it would be great to do the same again. Runners can do any distance and join at any point. Ben goes at the slowest person’s pace and often stops for food etc on route . (This is not a non stop run like a race)
