#ThisWeekatSAW – 10th June 2022
Message from the Head of School:
Hello,
We are in the last two weeks of exam season. Our current year 11s have shown remarkable efforts in both their positive attitudes and resilience when sitting their exams. Intervention and revision sessions have been utilised very well and this enables students to be supported effectively throughout this time. Please can I remind all parents/carers that when an exam is concluded students need to stay in the Academy?
The Year 7 Rugby Team have won the Hull Schools Cup final and have secured a place in the Yorkshire Cup Final next week! I would like to express a big well done to all in positively representing the Academy and a big thank you to all the staff that support with events and fixtures of this nature.
There are numerous events taking place to celebrate PRIDE month this week – students have been attending assemblies to support this.
I would like to remind you all that we have two Year 7 events next week. On Thursday 16 June 2022 the Y7 Parents Evening will be taking place – please ensure that reply slips are sent back to the Academy. Following on from this we are also holding a Year 7 disco on Friday 17 June 2022, 4:00-6:00pm.
Thank you to those parents who continue to support us with attendance, please ensure your child is attending the academy every day when possible. Missed days are missed learning opportunities which will hinder future learning.
Kind regards,
Gemma Ransom (Head of School)
