U.13s Reach Finals of Hull Schools u.13 Inter – Cricket Tournament
The Academy’s Year 7 and 8 boys reached the finals of the Hull School’s U.13 Inter-Cricket by beating Andrew Marvell rather comfortably.
In the absence of Sydney Smith who failed to show it was a straight match between the Academy and Marvell.
Considering it was the first time the boys had played together they put up quite a display!
The boys were captained by Chris Brown who for a change showed some leadership qualities although his batting did not match. Sirius batted first and scored a total of 120 for 3 with a great partnership of Callum Fox and Callum Magee leading the order.
Andrew Marvell could only manage 20 all out and this was doe to the all-round fielding and bowling skills demonstrated by the whole team in Callum Magee; Callum Fox; Joe Wood; Chris Brown ; Thomas Spurgeon; Harrison Shearsmith; Kenan Stephenson; and Ben Fox- with reserves Tom Fox; Connor Harmon; Luke Collingwood ; Jack Langleyand Carl Egan .
It must be the first time the Academy has been represented by three brothers the Fox’s – two of which Ben and Tom are twins! Quite a family achievement and a proud moment for their parent’s!
The team will now meet a strong Malet Lambert team in the final today!
Please praise the boys for their efforts!
