U13 Girls Into Cup Final!
The U13 girls tonight played their semi-final match against Malet Lambert here at Sirius Academy. Playing on the 3G was a huge ask for such a young team however they powered through to victory!
Some outstanding performances from certain individuals but overall a great team effort.
Mia Duke was as ever solid in the middle allowing very little to pass her by. Supporting her was Emily Andrew at the back who was clinical in tidying up anything at the back putting it out of play.
Up front was Kayleigh Waller. Taking a break from her natural position in goal she managed to place 3 in the back of the net!
Ellie Smirk and Ellie Cone worked well together across the middle of the pitch and moved the ball well, linking the back up to the front and made some impressive supporting runs up front with Kayleigh seeing space between defenders and placing the ball to set up for some impressive goal scoring opportunities!
Also on the score sheet was Ellie Cone with 2. In reality it could have been more, however she finished 2 in style and always looked eager to get her name on the score sheet!
A special mention needs to go out to Molly Bigby in year 7. She unselfishly put herself forward to play in goal for the team tonight and even though at times she didn’t have all that much to do she stuck with it in the interest of the team and when required made some solid saves.
All in all a great performance from the girls and after their season so far this year a well-deserved place in the Hull Schools Cup Final.
Final Score: SIRIUS ACADEMY 5 – MALET LAMBERT 1
Also a huge thanks to Emma Bore for supporting and organising the girls at the start, and to RICHARD MOY (year 12 BTEC Sport Student) for taking time out to referee for the girls.
