U13s Girls Football Humberside Cup 1/4 Final – Sirius 15 Malet Lambert 0
Sirius Academy U13’s girls football team cruised through to the semi final of the Humberside Cup with a 15 – 0 victory over Malet Lambert. The girls played some superb football and looked dangerous on every attack. Kayleigh Waller opened the scoring with a superb run from the midfield position and cool finish. Ellie Cone showed her pace and skill scoring her first of the game shortly after. Her strike partner Danielle Waters also got on the scoresheet with a fine finish. The flood gates opened and it ended 9 – 0 in the first half. On the rare attack from Malet, the danger was soon stopped as the back three of Molly Bigby, Mia Duke and Emily Andrew worked well. The second half was pretty much the same with Sirius just camped in the Malet Lambert half. Ellie Smirk was first to score in the second half and Ellie Cone rounded off her hat-trick, as well as Kayleigh Waller finishing on 7 goals. Changes were made in the last ten minutes, with Mia Duke going up top and scoring a hat-trick in her short space of time as a striker. Rio Cambell was a willing runner on the left hand side of midfield and Sophie Murray enjoyed her debut at football working hard in the middle and on the wing. Candice Welburn was strong in front of the back three and put in some good challenges. Ameera Jessop in goal was almost redundant, as not one shot came her way, which was credit to the good closing down and marking form the Sirius girls. It was a good all round performance from the talented U13’s team, and they will look forward to seeing who they play in the semi final.
Please congratulate the squad on their performance and success:-
