U15 Girls Rugby Union
The U15 Girls played in a round robin tournament at Hull RUFC and came out worthy winners, with a couple of very convincing performances.
Sirius Academy West 7 Wolfreton 0
Sirius Academy proved too strong, skillful and fast for the Wolfreton side, who in fairness to them had a lot of new players in their side. The defence of the Sirius side was immense, they just could not be broken through as the line came up well together leaving no gaps and some big tackles coming in. Two quick tries from captain Danny Waters set the scene, the strength and vision of Beth Dixon doubled the lead for Sirius as she crashed over for two tries. Amy Purdon was back to her best after a long term injury and scored a good try of her own after some great play from Danny Waters who put her through the gap. Good hands down the line put Alisha Pearson in at the corner before Shannon Jordan went over for the final score of the game.
Sirius Academy 4 Howden 0
Once again it was a solid display in defence for Sirius, with Chloe Dunn, Danny Waters, Shannon Jordan and Cameron Shakespear proving to be too strong down the middle. Amy Purdon scored the first try in this game, again it was some great link up play with Danny Waters on drop off that created some good space as Amy stepped her way through the defence and showed real speed to get over the tryline. Beth Dixon went over shortly after after some great support play. Kalisha Quantock got on the scoresheet to make it 3 – 0 with a fine solo try which was well deserved as she was impressive throughout the competition in attack and defence. Chloe Dunn rounded off the scoring with some real determination to break through the tackles and get over the tryline.
Please congratulate the squad on their performance, attitude and behaviour.
