Under 15’s secure National final place!

[22 Apr 2016]

The under 15s rugby union team today were crowned the best team in Yorkshire and have secured a place to play at the National finals in a few weeks time. This is a great achievement for the girls as this will be their 3rd consecutive year to reach these finals. They will be looking to win back their title of ‘best team in the country’, after narrowly missing out in a tense final played on the Twickenham pitch last year.

The girls had some very tough competition today at the Yorkshire finals however their sure grit, determination and most importantly teamwork saw them play their best rugby union yet only conceding 1 try all day. The team made some great runs and supported each other in all 6 of their games.

Sirius met Settle College; the winners of pool A in the final and from the start they were determined to ensure they won the place into the final. The girls communicated well, worked as a team and played some skilful rugby, putting into practice everything we had worked on in training.

The scores for the games were as follows:
Sirius 4 V Bedale 1
Wales School 0 V Sirius 1 (game cut short after 3 minutes due to Wales injury)
Brighouse 0 v Sirius 3
Crofton 0 V Sirius 3
Hemsley 0 V Sirius 4
Final:

Settle 1 V Sirius 3

The girls were a credit to the academy. Please congratulate the U15 Sirius West girls on their performance, attitude and behaviour:
