World Book Day – Primary School Story Competition

[12 Mar 2019]

World Book Day was last Thursday, 7th March, and here at Sirius Academy West, we played host to over 100 Year 5 pupils from our local Primary Schools who enjoyed a day of English, Drama and Art to help them write their own story, develop their characters and design their front cover.

Pupils and staff from Christopher Pickering Primary School, Eastfield Primary School, Francis Askew Primary School, Paisley Primary School, and Rokeby Primary School were all enthralled by the sessions they took part in.

World Book Day is renowned for the inspiring costumes which children delight in wearing to celebrate the day, and last Thursday was no exception. In true World Book Day style, we had an array of costumes from Harry Potter toSuper Mario, from Cinderella to Mary Poppins, and everything else in between.  All the pupils who attended were simply fabulous!

Thank you to Miss Morris, Miss Noble, and Miss Pritchard for all their hard work in delivering what was a truly “perfect in every way” day which was enjoyed by all.

All pupils that attended are reminded that the deadline for the submission of their stories is Thursday 4th April 2019. Entries can be handed into the Main Reception at Sirius Academy West or returned to their own Primary Schools. The stories will then be assessed for the chance to win a Kindle. Good luck!
