The Year 10 Dancers performed at Bridlington Spa last night (Sunday 12th February) as part of the ‘Unite’ dance showcase. Students arrived in Bridlington at 2pm for their technical rehearsal, in which they had the opportunity to rehearse on stage, exploring the technical aspects including positioning stage setting and lighting. Students had the opportunity to tour the theatre and also watch the rehearsals of the other dance groups, including Hull College, Hull Truck Youth Dance and East Riding Dance company, all of which provided some theatrical and outstanding performances.
After a nervous rehearsal, students began to relax and produced a superb performance, completing the look with costume and make up. Strong choreography and shaping throughout the piece gave the group a real sense of teamwork, which resulted in a truly professional performance. Excellent effort, attitude and performance from Renell Byas, Jodie Stanford, Samantha Brown and Kara Harold.
Many thanks to the staff that came to watch, Dr Cathy Taylor, Jon Flatman, Mr (and Mrs) Rhodes, Kerryanne Forth. Special thanks to Viki Stephenson for supporting throughout the day.
Please congratulate the following students on their effort, DVD of performance to follow shortly!
